Wang Quanying's daughter, Liu Guihua, said that before her mother passed away, she had no illness, but in her later years, her muscles gradually atrophied, her lungs became inflamed, and she often had difficulty breathing and couldn't cough up phlegm. "My mother passed away in her sleep, and she passed away peacefully."
Although she is already a hundred years old, Wang Quanying still insists on needlework, donating the cushions she sewed herself to the school and the red education base. I kept embroidering until May this year.
July 2nd is Wang Quanying's 105th birthday, and on June 27th, her family celebrated her birthday early. That day, she put on Red Army uniforms, the 80th anniversary of the Long March victory of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
It is understood that Wang Quanying's original name is Wang Guixiang, born in 1921 in Jinchuan County, Sichuan Province. Orphaned at a young age, her uncle sent her to a wealthy family in Jinchuan County to work as a maid, taking care of the landlord's children and cleaning. The landlord tied her up with ropes and threw her into the icy, biting river water, washing her back and forth. It wasn't until the Red Army's Long March reached Jinchuan that she encountered them for the first time, and together with several Jinchuan sisters, left the landlord to join the Red Army.
Wang Youping, professor at the Sichuan Provincial Party School, recorded in his book "Sichuan Female Red Army Soldiers During the Long March" that in June 1935, 14-year-old Wang Quanying joined the Red Army and followed the Fourth Red Army during the Long March. In early March 1936, Wang Quanying arrived with the Red Army troops in Danba County, where they were besieged by the Kuomintang's 24th Army. In the fierce battles, she was separated from the main force and later settled in Wenchuan County.
During her exile, one of her toes was frozen by heavy snow, leaving only four toes on her left foot. Liu Guihua recalled that whenever it rained, her mother's entire foot would ache.

After the founding of New China, she changed her name to Wang Quanying, meaning "All Red Army soldiers in the world are heroes." In the 1980s, the Civil Affairs Bureau of the Aba Prefecture People's Government conducted a comprehensive investigation and identification of fallen Red Army soldiers. Soldiers identified comrades from that year through mutual recollection and identification, and Wang Quanying also returned to the ranks through identification.

In May 2022, Wang Youping accompanied 101-year-old Wang Quanying to his home in Dujiangyan City for an interview with the production team of the CCTV documentary "Song of the Long March." Wang Youping remembers that although Wang Quanying was illiterate, he could speak clearly and sing some revolutionary old songs without error, walk independently, and do needlework.
According to Wang Youping, in the spring of 1935, more than 8,000 female Red Army soldiers crossed the Jialing River with the Fourth Red Army to join the Long March, the vast majority of whom were from Sichuan, accounting for over 90% of the total female Red Army members.
